Mother pesters police station
by: Christina Pierrus
The devastated mother of Pippa Allsopp pleaded and regularly showed up at the Havelock north police station sobbing and clearly distressed and asking the officers if they’d found her daughter.
Meanwhile the rescue team was still trying to figure out a way to unwedge Phillipa’s foot without having to amputate it.
They eventually agreed that it was not possible for her to get out of in between the rocks and bushes.
Although Dylan Smith and Bob Robinson were working at breakneck speed to rescue unconscious Pippa, it took the pair 1 ½ hours to amputate her leg and to pull her back up the cliff face.
“One of the most difficult things I’ve ever done” admitted Dylan smith and Bob Robinson.
“It is really difficult to get around, and sometimes it gets really painful but I’m really glad they did it or they’d still be wondering how to get me out!” Pippa states just over 19 hours later.
“I couldn’t imagine what my life would be like without Pippa in it!” Pippa’s relieved mother said.
Confused faces spread as the havelock north rescue team query how Pippa’s foot firstly got jammed in there any way. Whathappeneders believe that

she was perhaps trying to jump down the cliff and it may be fell through the crack in the cliff face.
